Processing of Textiles

The Council is seeking a contractor for the provision and maintenance of textile banks and uplift of textiles for reuse and recycling. There are currently 65 banks needed however this number will vary throughout the length of the contract.

It is proposed that the DPS option is pursued. The use of the DPS recognises that suppliers have already carried out the work to be pre-qualified and is less resource intensive but still allows Local Authorities to have control over specifications within the tender. The use of a DPS also honours the Councils preferred procurement hierarchy.
