Hardware and software installation can be very expensive, especially for large fleets. The ongoing cost of maintenance, updates, and training further add to the financial burden. Integrating new software with existing back-office systems, training all crew members, and replacing hardware can take up to two years to fully implement. So, a direct Award to the incumbent supplier was the best option for the continuity of the service.
