East Lothian Council is seeking notes of interest from suitably experienced providers in relation to provision of day respite services for children\young people in East Lothian in school holidays.
In keeping with The Promise and UNCRC, East Lothian Council would like to provide a service to children, young people and their families scaffolding support, providing respite from caring responsibilities, increasing resilience and likelihood of families remaining together. The provision would recognise the additional value to siblings and parents/ carers beyond the direct delivery of service to children and young people.
It would be envisaged the provision would take the form of a group setting enhancing social opportunities for children and young people as well as providing structured activities to children and young people where mainstream activity would not be able to meet their needs.
