The Marine Directorate invites a tender from a suitable contractor for developing an exchange mechanism to support nature recovery in Scotland’s marine environment. The aim of this project is to identify and review different approaches that could be taken to develop an exchange mechanism between potential marine and coastal enhancement measures applied across marine ecosystem components so that an overall positive outcome for biodiversity is achieved from offshore wind developments. Measures to deliver marine enhancement encompass a broad range of processes and activities (for example pressure removal to allow natural recovery through to more active interventions such as species relocations or seed planting to speed up recovery). The aspiration of enhancement is to improve the condition or status of the marine and coastal environment.
