ClimateXChange wishes to commission research to create baseline data, recommend a future monitoring framework, and conduct an economic appraisal of the future impact of Scotland’s offshore wind supply chain. This includes all offshore wind farms based in Scottish waters, and associated Scottish supply chain. This research will update and address any gaps in current baseline data and identify appropriate supply chain metrics. It will provide a framework for analysing the potential economic impact of Scotland’s offshore wind supply chain based on low, medium and high scenarios for deployment of additional generating capacity, clearly articulating the assumptions which underpin each scenario.
The overall purpose of the work is to enable the Scottish Government and partners to have a useful framework for understanding the current and future economic impact of Scotland’s offshore wind supply chain, to support policy and investment decisions. The output of the research project will ultimately be owned by Scottish Government.
