Provision of compliant fire stopping all over the QEUH and the RHC. This includes ensuring that the appropriate materials are installed throughout the building by an accredited passive fire protection company. NHSGG&C requires that the contractor is third party approved (from FIRAS, ASFP or other similar accredited bodies), who should provide regular inspection of the works done. Also, there should be a programme of works that accurately reflects what is needed to provide this fire stopping in a live hospital environment. Thereafter, the NHSGGC requires a robust yet simple electronic programme for document storage of evidence that adequately shows the works done (before and after pictures, exact works that were carried out on each location, amongst other things) and a handover of the entire stored documentation after the works have been completed.
