Marine Scotland invites tenders from suitable vessels to undertake live fish collection of cod when caught as bycatch from creels. The fish will be used in behavioural studies within Marine Scotland Sciences (MSS) Fish Behaviour Unit (FBU) as part of the CodSELect project funded through the Fisheries Industry Science Partnership (FISP) scheme. The CodSELect project aims to use artificial light to improve cod selectivity in North Sea Nephrops trawl gear and intends to carry out a number of aquarium behaviour trials to support this. Vessels must embark and disembark at Stonehaven Harbour. A derogation must be in place to enable the vessel to collect the cod.
