Since 2015 Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Stranraer community have been working to find new purpose and a sustained future for one of its most prominent heritage and town centre assets. The objective of this commission is to research and develop options for an operating model and a 5-year business plan for a proposed arts culture & activity centre on the site of the former George Hotel. The appointed consultant will undertake work that will provide recommendations which will allow Elected Members to identify a preferred operator for the re-developed site. The results of this work will be used to support the development of a full business case (FBC) in accordance with HM Treasury Green Book (2022).
