Award of contract. Requirement for a provider to offer a range of services which support people with disabilities to live independently and to fully understand the various Self-Directed Support (SDS) options available to them. This will include information, independent advice and one-to-one support to arrange and manage their own SDS package if they choose.
A financial or money management service is also required for those supported people who require assistance managing their Self-Directed Support Budget.
The overall objective of the service being to ensure the supported person is provided with advice and support to make an informed choice when exercising their SDS options, to provide assistance and support to assist the supported person employ and manage personal assistants and manage their SDS Budget.
