Award of contract for servicing University of Aberdeen Data Centre, which is located in the Edward Wright Building on the Old Aberdeen campus, Aberdeen.
The IT data centre is a shared services facility hosting rack hardware for the following data centre partners:
University of Aberdeen
Robert Gordon University
North-East Scotland College
Aberdeen City Council
The data centre itself employs hot aisle containment and a combined cold and hot aisle return plenum. Current agreed Service Level Agreements with DC partners are to control the data hall to ASHRAE 2011 recommended range (18-27 degrees; 60% RH) and within the ASHRAE Class A1 levels (15 degrees to 32 degrees).
The University of Aberdeen are looking to appoint a single supplier for the support, servicing, and maintenance of the following elements within our IT data centre.
1. Cooling - Freecool Evaporative Cooling system
2. Fire Protection - VESDA Fire suppression and fire alarm
3. UPS Power - Schneider (APC) Symettra PX250 UPS
4. Room Monitoring - APC StruxureWare Expert & Netbotz Monitoring systems
