Forestry and Land Scotland have a requirement for the construction of a two new roads and maintenance of the existing forest road in the Kilpatrick Hills. The first road is hereafter referred to as Merkins-Knockupple and the second road is hereafter referred to as Merkins 63112. The Merkins-Knockupple new road comprises approximately 2800m of new forest road construction from the existing forest road to Coupe 63152 and subsequently through this Coupe and Coupes 63151 and 63150 in the Merkins / Knockupple area of the Kilpatrick Hills. The Merkins 63112 new road comprises approximately 350m of new forest road construction from the existing forest road through Coupe 63113 to Coupe 63112 in the Merkins area of the Kilpatrick Hills. There will also be some minor road maintenance works required to the forest road which serves access to these proposed new roads including local repairing of potholes; local ditching; and local vegetation management.
