The Provision of Minor Adaptation

Dumfries and Galloway Council are seeking to procure contractors to carry out minor adaptations to people living in private or privately rented homes in a timely manner to promote independence and prevent accidents, prevent admission to hospital or care, enable safe discharge from hospital or care settings, and to support unpaid carers and paid carers.

Minor adaptations are non-structural, temporary and/or can be easily removed from the home of an adult or child.

There are 3 aspects of Minor Adaptations:

• The delivery and fitting of minor adaptations, e.g. grabrails, banisters.
• To carry out minor works in relation to minor adaptations required internally to properties e.g. door widening, re-siting of radiators.
• To fabricate and fit external bespoke handrails
