Description

The works comprise of the following:

Earthworks – includes removal of peat, glazier till and fractured rock.
Peat Storage – all removed peat is to be stored in bespoke constructed bays for reuse during closed cell restoration.
Unsaturated Zone – place free draining infill material to form cell base above groundwater level.
Perimeter Bunds – place free draining infill material to form cell perimeter bunds.
Mineral Barrier – place Bentonite Enriched Soil (BES) on cell base.
Basal Liner – place High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) liner on cell base.
Leachate Drainage – place clean aggregate as a drainage blanket on basal liner.
Leachate Collection – place collection chambers and transfer pipework.
Mechanical & Electrical – place electrical cable ducts, pumps, controls and lighting
