•Directorate for Agricultural and Rural Economy (ARE) is responsible for leading a transformation programme which has a focus on replacement of the Common Agricultural Policy with a bespoke Scottish Approach that better delivers our multiple goals for Scotland’s land use, including playing an integral role in the delivery of Scotland’s ambitious climate change commitments•The Lead User Researcher will work within the Business Design Team in ARE contributing to a high profile service transformation programme•Create and plan User Research activities based on business goals, identifying user groups, creating tailored discussion guides to support the design and development of products and services•Conduct and collect outputs from a wide range of User Research activities identifying and selecting the most appropriate research methods for the user group aligned to business goals.•Lead the analysis of the research data, synthesise clear and actionable findings, including creating a rich picture of user behavior that provides insights and recommendations for the service.•Document and present User Research findings to inform policy outcomes, Service Design teams and the wider organisation to develop a deep understanding of users and their needs
