The Scottish Government is committed to increasing the Early Learning and Childcare entitlement to 1140 hours per year by 2020. This commitment is reflected by Stirling Council as a Strategic Priority A.
In order to deliver the infrastructure aspect of this commitment, Stirling Council requires a suitably qualified contractor to carry out a multi-trades construction contract to Balfron & Killearn Nursery Schools.
This is part of a larger project, the EY1140 Hours Implementation Major Works Contract. The actual works and budgets have been already approved, they were presented as part of the paper titled “Expansion of Early Learning and Childcare – Capital Programme Update and approval of Project Process Agreement” approved by Children and Young People Committee 25th April 2019.
