Perth & Kinross Council’s Local Taxes team is seeking to review all recipients of a single occupancy discount to satisfy audit requirements, identify any potential fraud and ensure the accuracy of our records. Currently approximately 25,000 (34%) of the dwellings within the Perth & Kinross Council area are in receipt of a single occupancy discount.In order to minimise the scope of the review, the Local Taxes team are looking to engage an external supplier who can provide confirmation, through access to such channels as credit information, electoral roll information and other appropriate sources of information, that a given dwelling appears to be occupied by only one adult. This would allow the Local Taxes team to focus only on cases where there is doubt as to the ongoing entitlement to a single occupancy discount.
