The Council required the provision of a private water and landfill water sampling laboratory service to fulfil it statutory obligations.
The requirement consists of comprehensive chemical analysis, bacteriological examination and a scientific advice service for drinking water.
Also, as part of the Council’s license conditions for operating its landfill sites there is a requirement to chemically test leachate, groundwater and surface water to check that they are within set chemical parameters.
The contract duration is for an initial 2 years with the option to extend for a further 1 year.
