The Council is seeking assistance with the delivery of winter maintenance activities throughout the Scottish Borders. It is seeking to identify third party contractors who have the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience to provide such services.
The Council has an adopted winter service plan which details its operational approach. The level of service is principally around the precautionary pre-treatment of the primary network, through the application of salt. As necessary, it includes the removal of fallen snow using snow ploughs and the application of salt thereafter. The Council will retain decision making over the timing, locality and rate of spread of salt on its network. Note – All salt will be provided by the Council.
