Wellbeing Services for Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) Women who have experienced Domestic Abuse

Edinburgh’s Violence Against Women Partnership is the key strategic group for implementing the Scottish Government’s Equally Safe: Scotland’s Strategy to Eradicate Violence Against Women and Girls strategy, of which domestic abuse is a critical element. The aim of the proposed service is to provide specialist domestic abuse counselling sessions, complimentary therapies, advice services and/or groupwork sessions. These services will be made available to women from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities who are experiencing, or have experienced, Domestic Abuse (DA). For the purposes of this contract, the term Domestic Abuse will include the wider remit of Violence Against Women (VAW), Honour Based Violence (HBV), Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and forced marriage (FM)
