The Council wishes to award a contract to deliver a high quality, outcome focused Care and Repair service including a Home Handyperson service to assist older people and people with a physical/learning disability living in the Scottish Borders (who are owner-occupiers or living in privately rented accommodation)to remain in their own homes. The requirements of the service includes the provision of help and advice on housing repairs, improvements and adaptations, ensuring the work is carried out in accordance with the Care and Repair standards and to maintain service user satisfaction.
The Home Handyperson service is also available to older people and people with a physical/learning disability who are living in accommodation rented from a Registered Social Landlord (RSL).
Occupational Therapists are embedded in the service however are employed and line managed by Scottish Borders Council with a nominal line management by the service.
