European Union law places a number of obligations on food business operators and requires a range of official controls are carried out using appropriate techniques for that purpose. European law also requires the staff performing official controls are trained to an appropriate level.
As a result of this Food Standards Scotland has developed a bespoke course and conducted a pilot training programme and we are now in a position to roll out the training programme. FSS wishes to commission provision of services that will enable us to deliver the training course on five occasions and develop additional training material for the programme
