We are using the SBRI (pre-commercial procurement) process and contractual documents to procure the R&D services to develop the solution and this is a potentially two phased process.The development of innovative management techniques to control the spread of a non-native invasive amphibious plant New Zealand Pigmyweed (NZP) (Crassula helmsii) on the Caledonian Canal, Inverness.This project is funded by Scottish Enterprise via the Can Do Innovation Challenge Fund which seeks teams of innovators to develop new management techniques to control the spread of, and where possible eradicate, NZP.The plant is found growing on land and in the water in the canal system.Any solution needs to be practical, scalable and take account of environmental regulations and the wider ecology of the canal and its catchment.
