Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) currently has 7 Vaisala road weather stations. They each carry a range of sensors from a basic level (road temperature, air temperature, RH (dew point), precipitation, road surface temperature, state and chemical factor) to including depth temperature, wind sensors, and other sensors.These weather stations communicate with the Vaisala weather Bureau via GPRS. Vaisala currently have a contract to provide a managed data service which includes the collection, archive, quality analysis and presentation of the data to our Weather forecaster, currently MetDesk.It is the intention of this contract to provide 2 new sites at key locations across the County. A CCTV camera is also required to be fitted to an existing site (A4069 Black Mountain).
