York Road Refurbishment

Guildford Borough Council wishes to notify contractors of an upcoming procurement opportunity for the delivery of the York Road Refurbishment Project in Guildford.

The site sits within a Conservation Area and the scope of works includes the refurbishment and partial reconfiguration of existing buildings at 1 & 3-5 York Road, Guildford, to provide improved emergency temporary accommodation and rough sleeper support facilities.

The proposed works will include:

-Internal refurbishment and reconfiguration works.

-Formation of new ensuites to bedrooms.

-Conversion of loft space into habitable accommodation.

-Building services (MEP) upgrades and replacement plant.

-Window and door replacements.

-Roof insulation, façade repairs and other external repairs.

-Associated external works.

-Delivery within a phased construction programme, maintaining operation of parts of the facility during the works.

The project is intended to be procured using a traditional procurement route.

Planning permission has now been granted (refer to Planning Application reference 26/P/00492 for more details), and the project is progressing through RIBA Stage 4 (Technical Design).

Prior to issuing the tender, the Council intends to undertake soft market testing with interested contractors. Further details will be shared with suppliers who respond to this notice expressing their interest
