It encompasses the end-to-end lifecycle management of software covering procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement to ensure compliance, cost-efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
The primary objectives of Software Asset Management (SAM) are to drive down IT expenditure, mitigate legal and compliance risks associated with software ownership and usage, and enhance operational agility and end-user productivity across the organization.
At Kent and Essex Police we have a solution we are currently using and have been using for many years. We are now undertaking a strategic review to assess whether a more cost-effective solution is available that can deliver equivalent or enhanced functionality without compromising the capabilities currently provided by the current solution
