SCOPE
The Home Office is exploring the potential procurement of a National Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Service Application (the ‘NAS Application’) and Associated Services. ANPR is a vital law enforcement capability used to detect and disrupt criminal activity, protect vulnerable individuals, and support national security efforts.
The required NAS Application solution and Associated Services is expected to include:
Around 100 Million ANPR reads a day are sent to the NAS providing vehicle journey search, alerting and evidential export functionality to Police & Law Enforcement across England, Wales, and Scotland. The future NAS Application must be capable of managing high-volume, high-demand operations while ensuring data security and privacy.
