The Council is in the early stages of producing a new Local Plan for North Yorkshire (excluding the National Park areas). A Sustainability Appraisal is a statutory technical evidence document required to inform the production of the Local Plan. The Sustainability Appraisal will be prepared in-house by the North Yorkshire Planning Policy team. North Yorkshire Council is seeking consultants to act as a critical friend offering critical analysis of the Sustainability Appraisal at each stage (detailed in section 4) during the plan making process for the North Yorkshire Local Plan.
