Requirements for Clinical Decision Tool Database

• A clinical decision support tool that provides current, fast, easy access to high-quality evidence-based knowledge / information to clinicians at the point of care

• Ability to be authenticated via IP address, OpenAthens, integrated link on Intranet or Clinical Portal, or via personal account

• Ability to integrate relevant evidence-based information with any future EMR or EHR system via HL7 Infobutton linking

• An integrated drug interactions tool to compare drug to drug, drug to herb, and herb to herb interactions

• Patient Information Leaflets ready to be given to patients

• Ability to link to the full-text of journal articles that are available as part of a national subscription by the NHS, or are subscribed to locally by SaTH

• A tool that will help to reduce the cost of care and has a positive impact on length of stay, complication rates and patient safety

• Contains articles, drug information, images, calculators

• Available on a PC as well as mobile access

• A tool that covers all major specialities and is updated frequently

• Risk stratify patients and aid decision making to reduce admission at the front door

• Can be used for CPD / education / teaching purposes

• Point of Care tool as requested by medical schools in Plymouth and Bristol
