The beneficiaries of the service are d/Deaf Sign Language users who require an interpreter to be understood by the Council. This could include members of the public (of all ages), employees or volunteers.
The Translation and Interpretation Services complement existing Cumbria County Council statutory duties delivered under the Care Act 2014, the Children & Families Act 2014, and the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties and Public Authorities) Regulations 2017.
