Description

Historic England's (HE) Archive Building in Swindon is designed to provide the optimum storage for photographs. On 4 floors, it has 8 large vaults, 8 small vaults and 4 workshop rooms, mainly air conditioned to 6 degrees Celsius. HE seeks a technical solution to a number of lone working concerns with the Archive Building:

Staff becoming unconscious and lying undiscovered leading to injury or death
Staff needing to get help in the event of injury or entrapment
Finding staff within the archive building if they need assistance
Communication for people unable to use stairs who in refuge areas in the event of a fire alarm sounding
Providing a log of people inside the archive building in the event of a fire alarm sounding
