The ABM team have agreed to Pilot SAS Viya as a HMS as they use non-PII ABM data to perform a crucial role, offering operational and financial reports, including tracking FTE forecasts for HMT funding and informing DWP-wide efficiency initiatives. However, they urgently need help as current tooling is outdated. SAP BI was end of life in 2023 and ABM are sole tenant, burdened with unsupported modules and restrictive skills dependencies. While database running is moving to SAS 9, this is end of life in 2025. Data preparation is a completely manual process that involves time-intensive downloading of datasets on to desktops, which then needs extraction for processing within excel & VBA.
