The Council of the Borough of Kirklees working alongside the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Commissioning Board (ICB) are hosting an event for organisations who deliver a variety of low vision requirement and may be interested in helping to develop the review of low vision: A Kirklees Solution.

The areas in scope for review are:-

• Rehabilitation

• Assessment

• Access to retail

• Peer to peer support

• Advice information and guidance

Key considerations will include:-

• Increasing capacity for rehab and assessment

• Improving access to retail

• Accessibility - one-stop-shop geography/reaching hard to reach

• Growing peer-to-peer vision

• Advice information guidance and support, starting before assessment and diagnosis and continuing throughout a person's low vision pathway

• Quality including training and qualifications

• Sustainability of provision

• Meeting demand

• National context - reduced public spending
