Life Story Work enables children who are to be adopted to gain a greater understanding of the circumstances leading to them coming into care and being adopted. Children should be given information in an accessible form which explains their family background, the work which was carried out to support their family before they came into care and the reasons why they were taken into care. The aim is that children feel supported and informed at the time they are adopted and this enables them to achieve maturity and stability.
