Market Engagement For Overnight Short Breaks for Children and Young People with special educational needs and disabilities

Herefordshire has an exciting opportunity for one or more Providers of overnight short breaks for children and young people to support the Council with its continuing journey to improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. We have a small but stable demand for the provision of overnight short breaks for children and young people up to the age of 18 years.

Further to the market engagement undertaken in July 2023, Herefordshire Council is considering a tender to secure additional overnight short breaks for children and young people in Herefordshire and the surrounding counties. We are looking for a range of solutions including fostering and residential short breaks, but are keen to explore creative solutions with providers.

The Council would like to engage with Providers on a 1:1 basis (Via individual Ms Teams meetings) in order to better understand the scope of delivery options for overnight short breaks for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and what can be done to make the delivery of this service an attractive and viable option for the market.
