Southwark council has a number of key deliverables to be actioned over the next 10 years, one of its key commitments is to deliver "Southwark Housing Strategy to 2043" with the aim of delivering 11,000 new council homes by 2043- an aim which will be delivered by both Housing and Regeneration as part of the New ·Homes Steering Group.\r
"Southwark Housing Strategy to 2043" is a complex programme which includes the following commitments in addition to the 11,000 new homes, all of which will be delivered solely by Housing:\r
⢠Refurbishment of existing housing stock, and\r
⢠Build on top and extensions to existing housing stock.\r
⢠Improving void turnaround times.\r
⢠Upgrading Housing's district heating systems to reduce C02 emissions.\r
⢠Providing housing aids and adaptations to its vulnerable residents.\r
⢠Refurbishment and upgrades of operational non residential buildings.
