Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (the Council) is looking to establish a contract for the provision the Barnsley Older Peoples Physical Activity Alliance (BOPPAA) service, which has proved to be effective in reducing falls and frailty, by supporting older people in Barnsley to improve their strength and balance, and levels of physical activity. The Alliance has been established with NHS, public, private and third sector organisations to offer physical activity interventions for over 50s in Barnsley, and it now provides the primary falls prevention offer in Barnsley.
