Following the announcement of the Local Government Reform (LGR) consultation outcome for Cumbria; resulting in the existing County structure being split into two unitary authorities, it is critical that we ensure our planning and decision making is strengthened and supported by additional strategic capacity, to enable us to shape and inform the options available, to achieve a smooth transition to the new arrangements, and also take the opportunities presented by LGR to deliver a positive outcome for the children and young people of Cumbria. We are seeking someone to provide key leadership and help us ensure that the key decisions, planning and preparation for LGR are evidence informed and guided by expertise and experience.
