ï¬Dealing with emergencies involving babies and children
ï¬Resuscitating babies and children
ï¬Recognising and responding appropriately to:
⢠Anaphylactic shock

⢠Bleeding
⢠Poisoning
⢠The emergency needs of babies and children with chronic medical conditions including: epilepsy, asthma, sickle cell, diabetes, meningitis and other serious sudden illnesses
ï¬Responding appropriately to:
⢠Burns and scalds
⢠Choking
⢠Suspected fractures
⢠Head, neck and back injuries
⢠Foreign bodies in eyes, ears and noses
⢠Eye injuries in babies and children
⢠Bites and stings
⢠Febrile convulsions
ï¬Responding appropriately to the effects of extreme heat and cold
