Shoreditch Park Landscape Improvement Project - Design Team Service Contract

Hackney Council would like to refurbish Shoreditch Park, and wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and highly experienced Landscape Architect led design team to lead on the design development of a Masterplan, to work with the Council on an extensive public consultation exercise, develop the tender documentation and manage the works contract to deliver the improvements to the park.

The total budget for the project is £2m and it is estimated that the budget for both the design team contract and the Landscaping works contract is likely to be around £1.85M maximum with the remainder of the budget being used for any other required costs, including Project Management, Quantity Surveying (QS) and Consultation consultant costs and any other fees which will all sit outside of this commission.

The Lead Consultant / Landscape Architect will act as Contract Administrator and Principle Designer for the project and will be expected to manage from RIBA Stage 0 through to RIBA Stage 7.

The Lead Consultant will be responsible for appointing all other design team members as required. The Council will appoint the works contractor however the Lead Consultant will be expected to lead on the tender for the appointment, manage the contractor and oversee the delivery (works) phase of the project.

Consultation and communication will be an extremely important part of the development of the design for this project. The Lead Consultant and design team will be expected to be heavily involved and fully engaged in the consultation process and will be required to represent the project at a significant number of public events. To support this aspect the Council will allocate consultation / community engagement experts to work alongside the design team.
