Post 18 Supported Accommodation

The service will provide support within homes for up to 15 care leavers up to the age of 25 and support will be delivered in an enabling environment. This will include:

 Information advice and guidance;

 Preparation for independence;

 Financial and Budgeting Support;

 Promoting health and emotional wellbeing;

 Support to access education training and employment opportunities;

 Planning transition to independent accommodation;

 Opportunities to participate and volunteer in leading positive activities designed to build resilience and self-esteem.

Stockport Homes is in the process of purchasing three properties to provide accommodation for this project. The sale of all three properties is currently being processed and it is expected that the initial 3-bed property will be available from September 2019 onwards, with the second 3-bed property ready in December. The 7-unit property is expected to follow in the Summer 2020. However, in the interim, we would be looking for the provider to support the equivalent number of care leavers in accommodation within the community. Once a support provider is identified, it is hoped that there will be an opportunity for the Provider to be involved in decisions about the set up & decoration of the new properties once they are purchased.

Note that the scheme will not start until the first property is available.
