Supply of ESS Storage Pit Lid Prototype

The UKAEA invites tenders for the Pit Lid Prototype. This prototype is for a stainless-steel clad concrete shielding lid. The prototype is based on a competition of three Lots:

a) Lot 1: Pit Lid Prototype pre-concrete product & locating frame only

This scope is for fabrication of a large stainless steel box and frame, welded up from thick plate and fitted with reinforcement bar and bespoke lifting features.

b) Lot 2 Pit Lid Prototype concrete pour only

This scope is for a high-density concrete pour to fill the previously fabricated stainless steel box.

c) Lot 3: Pit Lid Prototype complete product & locating frame

The prototype is based on a competition of three Lots.

Either Lot 1 & Lot 2 to be awarded, or Lot 3. Refer to contract notice for full details.

This scope is for manufacture of the complete product.
