Isle of Dogs & South Poplar Integrated Water Management Strategy

The Isle of Dogs and South Poplar (IoDSP) area was designated an opportunity area in the current London Plan (2010). The Mayor of London, and Transport for London have prepared a draft Opportunity Area Planning Framework (OAPF) for the IoDSP in consultation with Tower Hamlets Council (May 2018). A Development Infrastructure Funding study has also been prepared (May 2018), alongside other supporting consultation documents. An Area Action Plan (AAP) for the east of the borough, immediately north east of the IoDSP area, is in the early stages of production. The AAP will influence new development, where more than half of the proposed growth sits outside the current Local Plan site allocations, and will consider the implications of growth on planning for and delivering key infrastructure (e.g. utilities).
