EMPLOYERS AGENT AND PRINCIPAL DESIGNER CONSULTANTS

1.1. Southampton City Council (SCC) seeks to appoint an Employers Agent and a Principal Designer to undertake the usual professional duties for these roles, in order to appoint a 'design and build' main building contractor to work-up designs, costings and achieve a planning consent for the residential development of Plots 9 & 10 of Townhill Park, in the east of Southampton.

1.2. The contractor appointment will be for pre-construction activities to achieve planning consent, with a second contractor appointment optional for SCC, in respect of the actual procurement of building works via a building contract. The consultancy roles are up to planning stage.

1.3. Pre-construction activities for the main building contractor will include the appointment of consultants and the commissioning of surveys and reports necessary to procure a new planning consent for the site. The main building contractor will be coordinating the design and planning process on behalf of SCC in accordance with SCC's design brief and with ongoing, key stage financial viability modelling also by SCC.
