NMC Review of Regulatory Registration and Fitness to Practise Processes in Nursing and Midwifery

The objective of this work is to check that our decision-making in registrations and fitness to practise is fair and consistent. We want to know whether there has been any disparity in our decisions, or whether we've interacted or communicated differently with, professionals with different diversity characteristics and with regards to cases where discrimination has been alleged. We also want to know whether there are improvements we can make to the way we work and our processes to maximise fairness and consistency and prevent poor judgements from happening in the future.
