OPSS, part of BEIS awarded a contract to undertake some research on data from accidents relating to consumer products:
Product Safety Data Project 2021/22: Collecting accident data relating to consumer products from the NHS Phase 2
⢠To continue the work with the participating sites, completing data collection from 2019 and 2020
⢠Collect 2021 data from all participating sites
⢠Complete analysis from data received and reviewing how collection and analysis may be enhanced given the different data systems in operation
⢠Provide feedback to staff to increase motivation and provide the tools to implement any improvements in data collection
⢠Finalise data protection arrangements and protocols and agreements necessary so that the anonyimsed data can be shared with OPSS and RoSPA as required
⢠Reviewing the potential for publishing the data in a research article or similar forum
