Grant Funding has been made available to support local authorities to build additional adult social care and community-based reablement capacity to reduce hospital discharge delays. Funding may be used for the purposes of:
meeting adult social care needs reducing pressures on the NHS, including seasonal winter pressures supporting more people to be discharged from hospital when they are ready ensuring that the social care provider market is supported
Funding can be allocated across any or all of the above four purposes in a way that local councils, working with Integrated Care Boards, determine best meets local needs and pressures. No fixed proportion needs to be allocated across each of the purposes, it is for local areas to agree the schemes that will be funded.
