The aim of the HSHAZ is to secure sustainable, heritage-led town centre growth to create a more vibrant, better connected and enhanced town centre. As a result of the HSHAZ project, there will be greater economic activity. Lower vacancy, better fabric condition and more activities to engage local people.
Due to covid-19 and economic factors the project hasn't progressed in alignment with the original timescales set out within the initial programme design. Historic England is therefore seeking heritage consultants for a period of 4 months (with a possible extension of 2 months, although this hasn't been confirmed) to help meet identified outputs and put the project back on schedule
