The project consists of constructing a new Costa standard format 1800 sqft Coffee Drive thru-unit within the constraints of the existing car park serving a B&Q hardware store. The building contract will be JCT Design & Build, based on a combination of architectural drawings and a Costa specification. A planning application will shortly submitted to South Somerset District Council and it should be assumed that an approval will be in place during the formal tender time frame.
It is anticipated that the chosen contractor will be appointed in early March 2021 who will have a 6 week mobilisation period to allow the contractors consultants to produce the substructure and superstructure designs. Commencement of the works will therefore start in April and the contract duration will be in the region of 6 months, planned for the end of September 2021. South Somerset District Council will shortlist contractors following a selection process at this stage for those contractors that complete a Selection Questionnaire. Invitation to Tender will follow early in 2021 for shortlisted contractors.
