Across the FSA we are reviewing the existing delivery and operating models that cover the local authority (LA) and the FSA's delivery of official controls. We anticipate that these reviews will lead to proposed changes to the existing operating and delivery models and we will need to understand the potential impacts of any changes so they can be evaluated before being implemented.
To better understand these potential impacts, we are commissioning this research to map the multiple regulatory aspects that exists from policy development through to the front-line delivery and enforcement of official controls. Without this information it is not possible to determine the impact of any changes or interventions across the entire regulatory landscape/process, which is necessary if regulation is to remain agile and flexible in response to changes in the profile of Food Business Operators (FBOs) and how they operate.
