The Manchester City Council (MCC) Wide Area Network (WAN) service currently delivers network connections to more than 200 Council locations. The WAN provides the network connectivity through which all critical network services and applications are delivered, to enable the day-to-day operation and functioning of the Council.
The WAN replacement is critical to the success of a number of projects in the ICT environment. The telephony replacement, wireless and Local Area Network (LAN) projects all have varying dependencies on the WAN and full connectivity to the new Data Centres cannot proceed without WAN services.
